from a demonstration unit and a positive response from its drivers have led Lewis Day Transport (EDT) to buy six Mercedes-Benz LGVs: four Actros 2546 tractor units with MegaSpace cabs and two 18-tonne Axor 1824 rigids with curtain-sided bodies by ColliersTruck Builders of Malden. Essex—complete with tail-lifts.
All six have Euro-4 SCR engines, which require AcIBlue. Lewis Day sales and marketing director Nigel Davison says: "AdBlue is easily handled, cheap to buy and consumed so slowly that the benefits of using it in terms of reduced fuel consumption far outweigh any downsides."
