THE secretary of the Standing Joint Committee asks us to point odt an error which occurred in Mr. C. le M. Gosselin's letter published in our issue dated October 17, Mr. Gosseiin states that the S.J.C. comprises only a
London committee. This is not so. The committee is a national one, although it usually meets in London, PASSENGER VEHICLES DRAWING TRAILERS WITH GAS EQUIPMENT
DAS.SENGER vehicles carrying not 1 more than seven persons exclusive of the driver, and drawing trailers used solely to carry c.Ontainers for holding, or plant and materials for producing, to propel the vehicle, any fuel that is wholly gaseous at 60 degrees F. under a pressure of 30 ins, of mercury, are affected by the Motor Vehicles (Speed Regulation) Order, 1941, dated October 1.
Such vehicles will not be subject to any restriction of speed imposed by section 10 of, and the first schedule to. the Road Traffic Act, 1930 (a), when drawing such trailers. This, of course, does not affect the obligation on the driver of observing the speed limits applicable to roads in built-up areas.
