• When Mr. A. B. Bimie, Scottish area Licensing Authority, opened new 24-acre premises for J. and E. Transport in Dundee last week he congratulated the company on the fact that in over 30 years of operation it had never received a GV9. The LA went on to suggest that the new premises would go a long way in ensuring that the company maintained its proud record.
J. and E. is a member of the Tayforth group and was acquired in 1967. Mr. R. Alexander, the group chairman, told CM that the new area, which has 10,000 sq. ft. of storage space, had been acquired for the planned development of the company. J. and E's main traffic at the moment are the products of the jute industries based in Dundee.
