• Mr. Werner Heubeck, general manager of Ulsterbus Ltd., has warned that fares will have to go up if the wave of unrest in Northern Ireland continues in the winter.
The company's private hire work has been badly hit, and there are fewer people travelling, particularly in the Belfast area, during the evenings.
In the disturbances, the company has had 20 buses destroyed, imposing an additional £ 140,000 replacement bill.
