Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• In the 12 months to the end of June parcels operator Interlink boosted profits by 81% to 24.7 million (from £2.6 million). Over the same period Interlink's turnover rose by 54% to £21.7 million. The company claims to have won a 50% increase in consignments this year.

• Bunzl Group recorded a 55.7% increase in profits in the first half of this year to £42.2 million, with group turnover up to 2659 million (from 2470 million).

Only Bunzl's transportation division suffered a decline in profits, down from £4.7 million to £4 million, on turnover up to £76.3 million (265.1 million). The company blames the drop in profits on severe weather last winter.
