Alconbury By-pass Opened : The two-milelong Alconbury by-pass on the Great North Road (Al) in Hunts, built at a cost of £1,1m. in 20 months, opened to traffic on Monday. The by-pass completes a 33-mile section of dual carriageways from a point north of St Neors to Stamford.
