THE London and Home Counties 1 division of the Traders Road Transport, Association is inviting members to establish liaison with the vehicle examiners of the Metropolitan traffic area, and has provided a form by means of which this can be done through the T.R.T.A. divisional secretary.
This stems from a recent talk by Mr. C. C. Toyne, the chief mechanical engineer for the area, in which he commented that in the course of, or following, a vehicle examination, examiners
often felt it would be helpful to speak to someone in authority, but frequently could contact only a fitter or driver. He said he would like his examiners to get to know every engineer, workshOp manager or senior foreman.
The T.R.T.A. has promised its co-operation and members who complete the form naming the people responsible for vehicle maintenance will in due course be contacted by the appropriate member of the Licensing Authority's staff.
