BRS NORTHERN has made George Hollowell manager of its Burnley branch. He has been with BRS for four years and was previously assistant branch manager at nearby BRS Bolton.
He will be in charge of the full range of BRS services, including truck rental with a fleet of 15 vehicles, and contract hire with 21 vehicles and 19 trailers.
Mr Hollowell has qualifications in heavy vehicle engineering and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport and an associate of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. BUSMEN's union leader Bill Morris has withdrawn from the contest to succeed Moss Evans as general secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union.
Mr Morris is national secretary of TGWU's passenger transport section.
