1E RECESSION has dramatically reduced the industrial market for tlid wastes disposal, according to Wokingham District Council, id to compete with the private sector it has had to put under the icroscope its own operation of about 100 vehicles.
Skipmaster equipment mounted on a 6x2 Bedford chassis, bought 1980, is on long-term evaluation and is producing encouraging suits. Fitted with Telehoist lifting gear rated at 12 tonnes, the Rible collection capability of the Skipmaster's 1.523 x 7.646cum (2 lOcuyd) is claimed to have made large reductions in vehicle miles :r ton of waste collected and to be more flexible in dealing with iprogrammed work.
