• Turbo conversion kits for the new-model 2.5-litre diesel Transit and the 1.6-litre diesel Escorts, Fiestas and Orions should take a qualified mechanic no longer than half a working day to install, says TB Turbos.
The turbocharger used is the Model T2 type Garrett/ AIResearch for the 1.6-litres and 125 for the Transit. Both units provide a significant increase in power from low rpm through torque curve bands up to maximum rpm.
The conversion, says the company, allows the customer the opportunity of petrol performance with diesel efficiency. The conversion can be transferred with "considerable ease" and no major alterations.
