• Liverpool-based Bibby Distribution has ordered a £700,000 batch of Volvos to fulfil work on new and existing contracts.
This is Bibby's first order for Volvos. The 15 ELIO tractive units and three FL7 rigids take the company's investment in new vehicles over the past year to £2.5m.
Eleven tractors will service two new contracts for Svviftlow Distribution, C&A's distribution division. The other four will operate out of Bibby's dedicated distribution centre for food retailer Nisa Today at Scunthorpe, and the rigids will work on Bibby's Boots contract in Plymouth. Bibby managing director Andrew Palmer says he chose Volvos because of their specification and attractive maintenance package. Merseyside dealer Thomas Hardie is supplying the trucks.
