As a van, four stretcher cases can be accommodated, with room to spare for attendants and equipment. Alternatively, two stretcher and five sitting cases can he Carried. Besides these uses, the van can be converted for evacuation, and seats installed for 10 children with luggage.
With the light super-structure removed, the vehicle becomes a lorry for the conveyance of an escape ladder and squad of firemen, the fire-pump trailer being towed. For this there is ample power—indeed, two pump units may be trailed if desired.
The body is constructed mainly of sheet metal, and should; therefore, be proof against splinters. Furthermore, it can easily be decontaminated and washed down. The interior dimensions of the body are 8'ft. long, 5 ft. 3 ins. wide and 6 ft. high.
