ARANGE of eight steam cleaners made by Homestead' Valve Co., Coraopolis, Pa., U.S.A., is now being imported by Stewarts Construction Equipment Ltd. Electric, gas, petrol

or diesel engine drive are available. A machine called the Multi-Job Washer is widely used for vehicle washing and degreasing. It raises the input temperature of the water by 100°F. and degreases at 300 p.s.i. On the rinse and car washing cycle the temperature rise is 25°F. with pressure at 250 p.s.i. and flow 90 gal. per hour. Demonstrations can be arranged.

Faced Hardboard THE growing popularity of semi-structural decorative boards has led Formica Ltd. to introduce Formica Decorative Faced Hardboard. This incorporates a good-wearing matt decorative surface with a finished, ivory-coloured backing on a hardboard core.

Nominal thickness is 0-125 in. and the new product, which is not suitable for exterior use is intended for vertical surfaces and light-duty horizontal surface applications only. Initially, 33 colours are being made.

23,000 Expense Accounts A180-page summary is now available of salesmen's ears expenses and allowances 1963. It is based on a survey carried out by Tack Management Consultants Ltd., Lonimore Street, S.W.I, from whom it is obtainable, price £6 6s. This nation-wide survey covered 23,000 salesmen from 452 diverse companies in 72 product groups.

The book contains more than 100 tables and the main sections are concerned with general information, salesmen's cars and car allowances, operation of company-provided cars. salesman-owned cars and business expenses. Because or its comprehensiveness and analytical tables comparison of the level of expenses is facilitated relative both to size and product of com panies.

AN item of garage equipment recently introduced by Kismet Ltd. is the Flatorscope KAG400 tyre inflator. The handpiece has a white plastics top and a glass-moulded magnifying lens covers the calibration scale.

A moulded-rubber protection bumper is incorporated at the outlet pipe end of the inflator, the air-inlet connection being suitable for an 0.25-in, air hose.

Fluorescent Lighting Unit ATRANSISTORIZED 12 V. fluorescent lighting unit has been developed by Industrolite Ltd. Known as the MiniLux, it employs a 1-ft, 9-in. 13w. standard fluorescent tube and has current consumption of only 1.1 amp.
