• A 35% wage offer to staff by parcels firm Lynx has been accepted by the RMT union.
A row which had escalated after the RMT had rejected the 3.25% offer (CM 19-25 June) was settled after intervention into the dispute by conciliation service ACAS.
According to an RMT spokesman, the union was not "wholly content" with the agreement, but committee members believed that they had "taken the
dispute as far as they could
Lynx has given a commitment to look at the issue of holiday entitlement as part of next year's wage review, which should be at the start of next year. It had earlier refused to agree to an improvement.
Also under discussion will be a passible extra day's leave after five years' service instead of 10; night rates paid for full night shifts; and time-and-a-half paid for all Saturday work.
