AA UNIVERSAL joint bushed throughout with rubber is shown in patent No. 904,170. (Metalastik Ltd., Evington Valley Road, Leicester.) Conical-ended pivots are received in conical cups carried on the spider. A rubber lining is interposed; this is bonded to the pin and held in the cup by compression in assembly. Deflections of up to 16° can be accommodated by torsion in the rubber, so that no lubrication is
needed. Alternatively, PTFE bushes may be used and relative rotation between the component parts permitted.
