Police are appealing for two truck drivers who may have witnessed an indecent assault on a woman at Partway in Bristol to come forward. The incident happened at around 2.30am on 17 January. The offender is described as a white man. aged 30, of medium build, with a shaven, shiny head. Contact: 0800 555 111
Failure costs
Poor transport is costing UK businesses El 5bn a year, according to the British Chamber of Commerce. Its survey found that 39% of companies feel the poor transport infrastructure surrounding their location limits their growth potential.
UFD buy
United Freight Distribution (UFD) has acquired Hemel Hempstead-based Transport Delivery Services for an undisclosed sum. Kirkcaldybased UFD will take on 45 staff at its new 6,500m2 premises.
Ferry dispute
Irish Ferries is suspending two services between Wales and Ireland because of an industrial dispute. Routes between Holyhead to Dublin and Pembroke Dock to Rosslare are being affected. The superferry between Holyhead and Dublin will continue to operate.
