IvecoTrucks believes it is the first manufacturer to publish a visual guide for operators i the condition its vehicles should be in when returned on a buyback deal.
Iveco's message is clear: "The firm won't do a buy-back deal unless the customer sips an agreement that defines the return condition of the vehicle." Iveco press relations manager John Procter says the guide is designed to clear up an] confusion between the manufacturer and end ui on the sort of condition the vehicle needs to be i: to financially honour a buyback agreement.
He explains that the guide is also a retail benefit for salespersons when discussing a new deal with a potential buyer.
The manufacturer says that as well as highligh ing routine maintenance and driver care, the booklet can help the operator improve overhea and running costs by sticking to the guidelines.
The Freight Transport Association is respon5 ble for checking the condition of returning lye+ vehicles. While all manufacturers have guidelir on buyback deals, the Italian manufacturer say it "is ahead of the game with the simplicity and clarity of its scheme-.
OThe booklet runs through interiors, cab extcrio bodywork, mechanical and general maintenance ancillary equipment and documentation, includii a 'return condition checklist'.
