With its headquarters in Rochester and other depots in Grantham, Manchester, Wednesbury, Woodville and Yate, the company also carries out its own repairs and maintenance.
Aware that its drivers work long hours behind the wheel, the company has to consider their well-being and one item that isn't overlooked on inspections is the state of the driver's seat.
With its own workshops, Swain runs vehicles for anything up to five or six years and in that time, each will probably have a new seat fitted during the latter It's just a normal service item and depending on the application and size of the driver, the upholstery, sub-frame and mechanisms will suffer wear and tear.
"We could repair them but it's simply not cost-effective," says transport director Graham Lord.
Instead, Tek Seating supplies a service replacement to whichever Swain depot the vehicle operates from and its mechanics swap them over.
Lord adds: 'We get the seat at a decent price and its simple enough work that can be done in about two hours."
