Nations Brought Together by Transport.

The part that transport services of the world could play in bringing about peace among the nations was emphasized by Sir Alexander Gibb, president of the Institute of Transport, at the annual ' dinner of -the East Midlands district. section and Nottingham and District Graduate and Student Society of the Institute. He said the world was being made the smaller by transport.

In certain parts of the world, he pointed out, there were people who were starving, whilst in other parts food was being destroyed because transport costs were too high to allow of its being delivered to the areas which were in need. That was all wrong, he added, but there was no doubt that transport was becoming more efficient and cheaper.

Transport, too, was not only bringing, greater happiness and health to the people of this country and the world, but it would add to the peace of the world, by giving .people the chance to become better acquainted with each other.
