Flu delay

• Possible disciplinary action against Manchester haulier Barry Howard v.'as adjourned after North Western DTC Patrick Mulvenna was told Howard had flu. A maintenance agreement with a commercial garage was produced to the DTC along with Howard's latest accounts.

Licence lost

• Stirling haulier Sally Wilson's eight-vehicle licence was revoked when she failed to attend an Edinburgh disciplinary inquiry.

Eight down

• Maintenance problems, convictions and breaches of the drivers' hours and tacho rules have led to eight vehicles being suspended for two weeks from the 10-vehicle/eight-trailer licence held by Midlothianbased Veitch Brothers.

Change refused

• A bid by Newport, Gwentbased Russell Williams to change his operating centre for nine vehicles and two trailers was refused by South Wales DTC Alan Jenkins following opposition from neighbours.

Times imposed

• Conditions restricting operating times were imposed when C&A Wright Haulage, of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, succeeded in increasing its licence from 14 vehicles and four trailers to 24 vehicles and 12 trailers. At a Mansfield public inquiry residents complained about noise; Wright agreed to a 5mph limit and to tarmac the access.
