THE first two of 40 A.E.C. Regal Mark IV coaches to be run on the Edinburgh-London service were delivered to Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., last week. The bodies were built by Walter Alexander and Co. (Coachbuilders), Ltd., Stirling, and have 30 individual adjustable seats.
The coaches are air-conditioned and are fitted with radio. Generous use of insulating materials has virtually eliminated engine noise and vibration. The toilet compartment at the rear cf the vehicle has its own ventilation system and a hot-water supply is provided..
Mr. James Amos, chairman of the group, stated at a function last week that an era of road transport was being entered in which standards 6f luxury were almost unlimited.
