Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LONDON BUSES has stamped upon the growing number of "showbuses" which its staff has been painting into nonstandard liveries, often at their own expense.

Management of the London Regional Transport subsidiary became concerned that the public may have been confused by the different fleetname and livery styles in which the buses were painted and has instructed staff to paint them back into standard style.

The buses were used for normal services during the week, but were displayed by staff at rallies and at local events and shows throughout London.

It still is prepared to support the preparation of "showbuses", but in future it wants them to be kept in standard livery and to be used to promote London Buses and its services.

A spokesman told CM that management had appreciated the enthusiasm which staff had put into the special vehicles, but felt it had got out of hand.

But the decision has caused some resentment among engineering staff who have contributed substantial sums of their own money towards the buses.
