the Latium Administrative Court, the carriage of perishable foodstuffs on Sundays and public holidays in Italy is now subject to transport authorisations. Only milk transport is exempt.
Applications for such authorisations must be made to the relevant authorities in the prefectures of entry to the country (eg, arrival by Mont Blanc = Aosta prefecture). Applications can also be made by the Italian consignee of the goods, who may then send it to the transport operator.
