The Driving Standards Agency is on hand at the NEC to discuss the new Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) EU legislation is due to be introduced in 2009. The idea is to improve road safety and reduce fuel consumption while attempting to raise the status of drivers. Existing drivers will not have to pass the initial qualification, but will have to go through 35 hours of training every five years.
