The Teig-nmouth-Shaldon Bridge,
We are informed that the cost of the purchase and reconstrtiction of the Teignmouth-Sbaldon Bridge will be between 1100,000 and 1150,000. Devon County Council has inquired if, in the event of the Ministry of Transport and the Devon County Council contributing 90 per cent. of the cost, the towns affected would subscribe the remaining sum.
It is intimated that Teignmouth Urban District Council is prepared to contribute 5 per cent, towards the cost if other local authorities concerned will subscribe the remaining amount. The Paignton authorities have decided to approve a contribution of 1 per cent.

Railways Absorb Irish Bus .

The London, Midland and Scottish Railway Co., northern-counties branch, has acquired the passenger-carrying service of Messrs. Hugh Abernethy and Sons, Ballyclare, Co. Antrim, taking over seven buses with their drivers and
conductors. Mr. Abernethy, who inaugurated the first bus service between Belfast and Ballyclare, will continue to supervise the service.
The Belfast and Co. Down Railway Co. has taken over the last boa company remaining in opposition to it on the BelfastHolywood road. As the result of the acquisition of the buses of this company, the railway will now be able to give a 10-minute service from early in the morning until 11.30 p.m.

Bus-traffic Concliglins in Waterford.
There has recently been a considerable increase in the number of bus coinpanes licensed to ply for hire 'in Waterford, and the possibility of the corporation taking steps to limit the number of buses operating in the town is being discussed. It is contended that, particularly in the summer months, there is, on certain routes from the town, much unnecessary competition.
