• Around 300 exhibitors at the Automotive Trade Show at Earls Court, London, September 26 till October 1, will show products covering three fields.
For the show brings together Autoquip, Garagequip and Bodyshow, which used to be held individually.
Exhibits in the 27,000m site will include everything from workshop and forecourt equipment to car accessories, and body repair and refinishing tools to spray booths and paints.
Admission is restricted to bona fide members of the motor trade and there will be a charge of 13 on the door (12 only for those who have pre registered). Page three girl Maria Whittaker wil be there on the opening day.
The show is organised by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in conjunction with SMNIT's aftermarket parts and accessories section, the Garage Equipment Association, and the Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association. When last held, in 1985, the show attracted more than 20,000 visitors.
"It's clear," the organisers told Workshop, "that an unprecedented number of new products will be on display for the first time."
