First job is to check weekend throughput and discuss any problems with my workshop foreman and the weekend chargehand. Were open from 06:00-18:00hrs on Saturday and Sunday so its usually been pretty busy. Checking on the workshop hours I have available to sell, and making sure that reception know of the hours available to them, a vital. Truck and van operators have to make their assets work hard for them, and so do we. Although the traditional steel around here has declined, it's being replaced by a variety of businesses so as well as Actros and Atego, we're selling more Vito and Sprinter vans these days. I meet the builders before they start work on the new three-bay extension. I need it right first time. Then need to sort out a problem from a weekend job. A truck's not ready and the customer will need a replacement vehicle. ft's a lengthy job to sort as the contract vehicle has tipping equipment. Locate one and check the customer is happy. Review accounts, credit control and accounts outstanding. Various telephone calls throughout the day dealing with customer queries, technical and financial. Visit customer with our parts manager to go through warranty guidelines in detail. Help with invoicing as the end of the month is approaching.
