• The application by Purle Bros. (Holdings) Ltd. under Section 180 of the Road Traffic Act 1960, for 84 vehicles belonging to Purle Waste Disposal (North West) Ltd., and six new vehicles, all to be put on two new B licences, with 67 on one and 23 on the other was granted in Manchester on Tuesday by Mr. A. H. Jolliffe, the North Western deputy LA.
Mr. G. Clayton, for the applicant company, said that the application had been made so that when drivers' hours were reduced an interchange of drivers would be possible and there would then be no need to increase the number of vehicles owned.
Mr. G. Sharp, a director of Purle Waste Disposal, said the vehicles would still operate from the same base and earnings would not alter. The six additional artics would be used to carry large loads of waste a long distance.
