rIM SKYRME is to be the next )resident of the Confederation )f British Road Passenger 'ransport. Mr Skyrme has )een the chief executive of he National Bus Company ince 1972, and has been in he bus industry for over 45 'ears.
After starting his career nth •the Belfast Omnibus :ompany he joined United Lutomobile Services and later ecame general manager of Potteries Motor Traction and Southdown Motor Services. When the National Bus Company was formed he held appointments as regional chairman and executive director manpower before being appointed chief executive.
The three vice-presidents are Mr Anthony Harrison, directorgeneral of Greater Manchester Transport; Mr Ian Irwin, managing director of the Scottish Transport Group ; Mr Geoffrey Steel, director of operations for Wallace Arnold Tours.
