• Vehicle refurbishment and logistics specialist Eurofleet has invested £4.5m in a fleet of drawbar trailers and prime mover bodies.
The firm has already ordered 56 Plus 11 car transporters from Essex-based Transporter Engineering, each of which can carry 11 vehicles. The first is due by the end of this month with the remainder to be delivered by June 2003.
The first 14 sets of trailers and bodywork are being fitted to Eurofleet's existing Scania P114 chassis, which have been stretched from 3.5 to 3.7m. However, it is expected to follow this with a major order for a fleet of new prime movers.
The new transporter equipment is designed to carry tall vehicles such as the latest Honda Civic, Peugeot 307 and Renault Scenic. tt features individual platforms with micrometer adjustment to facilitate the optimum fit. This will allow Eurofleet to carry more vehicles per load when moving MPVs, 4x4s and CVs.
