is On 7 April Shell will launch an upgraded range of Rimula engine oils. Existing products will offer improved performance and there will be a new product, Rimula D Extra, for general-purpose use which meets the basic ACEA E2 specification.
The range is now topped by the fully synthetic Rimula Ultra in two grades, 5W-30 and 10W-40. Both are suitable for the long drain intervals of MAN and Mercedes-Benz Euro-3 engines, while the latter meets the highest ACEA E5 standard, as well being suitable for Cummins and Mack and an extended group of European engines. Rimula Super 15W-40 and its improved economy version, Super FE 10W-40, are particularly suited to engines with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and exhaust particulate traps, and meets the latest global standards.
Rimula Xis a heavy-duty oil in 15W-40 and 10W-30 grades, suitable for plant applications as well as severe on and off-road truck use. The latest product, Rimula D Extra, is intended as a competitively-priced lubricant for older (pre-Euro-1) engines on medium to heavy-duty applications with normal drain intervals.
