AFTER admitting that they had operated beyond the period stipulated on their licence, Pleasureways (1955), Ltd., Oldham, were granted an extension to it by the North Western Traffic Commissioners at Manchester last week.
The concern held a licence to run tours to Tenby from June to August. Older people, however, who wished to avoid the peak of the holiday season, had been brought back from Tenby after August, said Mr. W. Eastwood, a director.
This had been done on the advice of the operators' association. The compan) wished to operate from May to October Two booking agents supported them.
Arguments advanced by the objector: —Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., and du railways—were that existing facilitie were adequate, and that there was ru reason to run tours in September.
Mr. F. Williamson, chairman, said tha the Commissioners thought that (hi applicants had acted in good faith. Thi period of operation was amended to rut from Whitsun until the fourth Fridal in September.
