Transit, the next generation
The current Transit range has been criticised for being too keen on functionality at the expense of thrills and looks, particularly in comparison with offerings from Vauxhall/Renault and Volkswagen. The next-generation Transit is already well under way and we were keen to establish whether Ford has addressed the concerns.
1 think it needs to be both driver-focused and functional — and I think you'll see more evolution tha revolution," says Morel, giving little away. "Our customers would like to see the space from the B-pillar, or behind the driver, to the rear doors remain the same as it is today for the most part. Basically, it works for them. Where we're planning to make changes is at the front end: or emissions and safety, chassis and braking systems. But the basic shape will remain familiar We has world-class functional cargo area, and we'll keep that."
