Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The organisers of the 1988 Automechanika fair in Frankfurt are reporting a record breaking event. During the six days of the show from 13-18 September, about 160,000 visitors attended, including 33,000 from 100 different countries outside Germany. The biannual show is thus furthering its claim to be the world's leading market place for all branches of the vehicle trade.

Among the 2,365 exhibitors were over 100 British companies, with most of them participating in a joint venture by the SMMT and the Department of Trade and Industry. The SMMT report that British companies were very pleased with the response, meeting not only those they expected to, but also many new visitors from all parts of the world.

Success stories include that of Coopers Payen, which clinched orders in excess of £200,000 at the show, including a £100,000 contract from Finland for gaskets and seals.

Another company doing well was FM Crypton, the vehicle diagnostic equipment manufacturer. It has just set up a new distributor network in Germany, and the show produced significant orders on the stand.

Leslie Hartridge, producer of diesel fuel pump and injector test and servicing equipment, also reported good business.
