is a good Vision
• Middlesbrough-based Vision Energy is marketing a system that promises a near perfect engine oil and fitter change within 10 minutes.
Conventional oil changes leave a residue of dirty oil, but ESOC (Environmentally Safe Oil Change) uses clean, dry compressed air to purge contaminated oil from galleries, drillings, sump and filter housing, replacing it automatically with new oil.
Filling the oil filter and prelubricating the oil passages and bearings with fresh oil before start-up also minimises the scouring of dry bearing surfaces.
The system incorporates a connector on the oil filter inlet port with a drain union in the sump plug orifice, each with a
nipple that couples to the appropriate feed or drain hose from the ESOC unit. Purging air forces oil from the filter into the sump and then out to a waste oil container. The unit signals that the filter is clear and ready for changing; when all the old oil is evacuated, the pump stops. Press another button and a preprogrammed amount of fresh oil is pumped through the engine and new filter.
Options include automatic sampling, a PC link and data collection for billing or storage.
The Detroit, US-made system will also be available as a mobile unit for visiting refrigeration units, remote plant and other non-static equipment.
