The Transport Tribunal considered an appeal against an earlier judgment by the Scottish Licensing Authority to suspend a one-vehicle, onetrailer licence for W. J. Anderson, Spean Bridge, for three weeks.
Anderson held an 0 licence for three vehicles and four trailers, but only had one vehicle specified on the licence. The LA had reduced this to one vehicle and one trailer, with a further suspen, sion for three weeks from January 1.
It was said that the trailer had been used on few occa sions last year, but that it ha( not been inspected as regu larly as the vehicle. As a result service and secondary brake: on the trailer were found to b( defective.
The tribunal upheld tin view that an additiona penalty had to be imposed Anderson did not need the ex tra vehicles on the licence an( would not be penalised 1:), their removal alone.
The suspension, lifted pen ding the appeal, was reim posed with effect from Marcl 12.
