• The debate about the environmental impact of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) has led to confusion about the use of such solvents to clean printed circuit boards. ICI, a member of working groups assessing these environmental issues, has just published several practical ways of keeping CFC emissions to a minimum in the cleaning process. These guidelines are set out in the ICI Arklone Information File available now from ICI.
