• Mayne Nickless, the Australian group which owns UK express courier Parceline, has announced 230.81 million profits for the half year to 3 January, up from 219,06 million, and an increase of 60% on the same period the previous year.
Mayne Nickless, which bought the then De la Rue Parceline two and a half years ago, has invested 225 million in the company, including the original purchase price, new vehicles, and a 26 million hub at Smethwick in the West Midlands, where it is spending 21.5 million this year to increase sorting capacity.
Parceline runs about 1,000 commercial vehicles, the majority of which are 3.5and 7.5-tonners for parcels collection and delivery. It operates about 200 16.5and 32-tonne line haul vehicles. Mayne Nickless also owns security services Arniaguard and Security Express.
