TRAILERENT is starting a 1:20m expansion programme intended to double the size of the company's United Kingdom depot network over the next five years, and to establish the company In Europe.
The plan, which follows on from the company's acquisition last month by Mercantile Credit, envisages a substantial increase in the 1,500 trailer rental fleet, and a new network of between 16 and 18 branches.
A firm base will also be established in Europe, and the company has plans to expand British activities to include other sectors of the trailer rental market.
The new trailer programme will increase the present £0.75m programme to one of £1.25m next year, and the development of the economy and future decisions on gross weight legislation will determine the extent to which further development will occur.
