The accompanying illustration shows a Wolseley car, believed to be 18 years old, at work in a remote corner of the Yorkshire dales in the employ of a builder and contractor. On the hills and often into fields the old car tugs its way daily without complaint, and, just before the photograph was taken, had hauled up a gradient of 1 in 8 a load weighing nearly half a ton, which, even for a modern vehicle of the private-car type, would be considered quite good work.
