Stobart Group on track to beat last year's performance
STOBART GROUP SAYS it will not only meet its year-end pretax profit expectatIons, but has also secured enough new business for growth in 2010.
In its interim management statement, which was unveiled last week, Stobart insists a combination of "operational synergy improvements" and more efficiency improvements" in its road transport and warehousing division will lead to a greater pre-tax prof it margin.
Its port operations division, it says, remained steady during the financial year (which closes on 28 February), and while revenue would be down slightly, pre-tax prof it will rise.
Stobart also says its rail division, which launched a chilled service from Valencia in Spain in June 2009, would beat last year's performance.
