Stafford-based Stan Robinson says it is "as committed as ever" to getting its longer, heavier vehicle (LHV) onto the road, and is looking for investment from any organisation interested in the concept.
The haulier's 33.5m truck consists of an 11-axle or 12-axle 84-tonne combination of two 13.6m semi-trailers linked by a trailer dolly.
In 2006, an RHA-supported application to the Department for Transport to use the vehicle on the roads was rejected.
Director and owner Stan Robinson says: "If a big organisation like the
Royal Mail, or a very large haulage company, wanted to invest in it, publicise it, and push the idea to the government, we would welcome this.
"The vehicle is specifically designed for high-volume trunks with pallets, and would be restricted to licensed routes running from depot to depot on rnotorways and selected trunk roads."
Robinson believes the concept promoted by Denby Transport is the "wrong one", because it is too complicated.
"I like Dick's idea, but believe my LHV is more acceptable to the government as it can be easily separated into two conventional artics for final distribution and deliveries."
