D This year's edition of The Little Red nook, published this week by Ian Allen Ltd, Terminal House, Shepperton, Middx, price 0.30, will be a welcome addition to any bus manager's bookshelf. This annual guide to British and European bus operators, manuItcturers and trade associations has always Yen the industry's "Bible". The 1972-73 :dition is no exception.
Although very slightly slimmer than last year (and costing 30p more) the "Red Book" is crammed with useful information. The enlarged format introduced a year or two back is retained but there is unfortunately no improvement in the quality of reproduction of the few illustrations. However, it is for the written information that most readers buy the book.
Though the lists of operators are probably as comprehensive as it is possible to be they are not entirely infallible. My local coach operator in Warwickshire is not included, for instance, but perhaps that is his fault for not filling in the relevant form. Nevertheless, this a publication no one connected with the bus industry can afford to be without.
