• An experimental scheme to rebate fuel oil duty and provide grants for the purchase of new vehicles for transport undertakings operating "free" bus services from peripheral car parks to city centres is being urged on the Government by Nottingham MP Mr Jack Dunnett.
He has tabled Commons questions to Environment Secretary Mr Peter Walker suggesting this would help local authorities to relieve traffic congestion.
Mr Dunnett said he was concerned about the increasing congestion in the centre of Nottingham.
