A total of 178 charges, involving hours d records offences, against Gardner etals Ltd and eight of its drivers, were journed by the Warley, Worcestershire, agistrates at Oldbury last week.
The company faces 38 charges of owingly causing a driver to make a false iver's record, 36 of permitting drivers to ceed the statutory hours of driving and uty time, 14 of permitting drivers to exceed 'hours of duty time in working week, one arge of failing to cause a current record be kept, and one of permitting a driver to on duty so that he did not have at least hours off duty during a working week. The adjournment was at the request of e defence to enable them to have sufficient ne to prepare a case.
