• Mr Geoffrey Steel. installed on Monday as the national chairman of the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association, told the agm: "The psv industry is in a state of change, not least as a result of Britain's joining the European Communities, and I hope to play a part in developing the right professional attitudes to deal with the demands of the future."
He said that already the European Conference of British bus and coach Operators (EC00) had been formed to deal with European matters and he was happy to serve on its executive committee, and added: "There are also moves to extend this co-operation within the UK, which will not be so simple. The PVOA is a party to these moves because it believes they reflect the needs of operators." (See People p. 31.)
