about the kind of hgv licence required to drive a drawbar trailer outfit you say that a Class 2 licence is required. Presumably the fleet mentioned in the question consisted of rigid vehicles with more than four wheels in contact with the road surface to require an hgv licence of this classification. Am I correct in assuming that the hgv licence required would be that appropriate to the rigid vehicle and if, for instance, the vehicle concerned was a four-wheel rigid then a Class 3 licence would be sufficient?
A The fleet to which the questioner referred
was comprised of vehicles constructed so that more than four wheels would be in contact with the road surface; this should, perhaps, have been made plain.
A Class 3 licence would be sufficient to enable a driver to drive a drawbar trailer outfit in which the towing vehicle is a rigid four-wheel vehicle.
