WEIGHTS checks on lorries on the M1 in Buckinghamshire have revealed an alarming number of overladen vehicles.
Of 135 lorries checked on a weighbridge near junction 14, 45 were overloaded and eight are to be prosecuted.
One 32-tonner was found to be 7.7 tons overweight, and several others were forbidden from moving until relief lorries were sent to take part of their loads.
