EMERGENCY car parking arrangements were brought into force in the West Midlands last week when West Midlands PTE bus drivers and conductors went on strike for three days before Christmas.
They were looking for an £8 per week interim payment per man, and rejected a WMPTE once-and-for-all £50 cash offer to the 4,500 Transport and General Workers Union members.
Additional parking places were provided at municipal car parks throughout the area, and several emergency sites in the area were turned over to car parking space.
