Mr. Gardner, who was 81, died last week after a brief illness. He was chairman and a managing director of L. Gardner and Sons, Ltd., and of the subsidiary company, Norris, Henty and Gardners, Ltd. He had been actively engaged in the affairs of the parent company from his earliest days and was at business until his recent illness.
